Steal Tia Mowry’s look from the 2nd Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards Luncheon. Although Tia’s look is dressier, you can snag a look alike for more than half the price. The Abstract Dress from Forever 21 is made of cotton and priced {budget}fab* at $24.80. To capture the belted ribbon look, head over to any fabric store and purchase a lavender ribbon long enough to tie around your upper bodice.

For a more polished option, capture Taraji Henson’s stunning look from the same event with the Princess Seamed Dress by Necessary Objects. This dress can be purchased from Amazon for $68 in charcoal, black, or brown.

And finally, try out Kenya Moore’s look for a night out with the girls or a fun date. Head over to Fashion Junkee to get a one shoulder red version of her dress for $43.00. Then head over to Forever 21 for the tropic bracelets ($4.80 each), metallic earrings ($3.80), and the paneled waist belt ($10.80). The faux leather clutch from Target ($17.80) can be worn with a variety of other outfits as well. And finally for the platform leather sandals, hit up Nine West or Amazon for the Balboa Gladiator Sandals, which are a splurge at $89.00.

This look could easily be recreated by purchasing the dress and the belt if you don’t have a wide brown belt for your waist. The dress also comes with a thin black patent belt, which gives it a totally different look. And this dress is one that can be worn to a variety of events. We’ve already covered a girl’s night out and date, but try throwing on a blazer to make it work appropriate. Of course this is assuming that the dress is loose enough to wear to work…don’t go to work looking like you’re about to head straight to the club!

An important thing to remember when creating an outfit, is that everything doesn’t have to be expensive or designer. Its okay to mix and match pricier pieces with cheaper trendier ones. Try to spend more money on articles of clothing that you can mix and match with various outfits to various places.
