save it! part ii

Here is another tip from our friends at www.dummies.com on how to save a penny or two:
Eat out less often. A family of four can easily spend $30 at a very inexpensive restaurant.
Well, I am not feeding a family of four at this time in my life, but this rule still applies to all of us. Eating out less often saves a ton of money. Buying food from a restaraunt for breakfast, lunch and dinner can be quite costly. Now, I’m sure most people do not dine out for all three meals during the day, but dining out during the lunch break is always very tempting.
Let’s just talk about lunch for a minute. I calculated that I could spend an average of $6.50 a day on lunch if my heart desired. That comes to a whopping $130 a month, $1560 annually. That is not the vision.
I guess you already know what the remedy to this one is. Brown bag it and watch the money accumulate. The money you save can go into a savings account, CD, or toward the down payment on a new home. These things will make you money instead of costing you money. So the next time you feel tempted to head to Panera Bread or Cosi during your lunch break, just say no!
