easy style updates

Now that we’re officially into Spring, many of us (myself included) are anticipating updating our wardrobes for Spring. However, with the state of economy it can be difficult to justify spending a lot of cash on updating your look.

Here are some easy tips that I found in Glamour to update your style the {budget}fab* way:

1. Add a pretty plaid. This can easily be incorporated into your wardrobe with a fun plaid dress, tunic or button down. Check out this Midwest Plaid Shirt from Forever 21 on special today for $18.32.

2. Incorporate happy prints. Florals always make me think of warmer weather, Old Navy has some great {budget}fab* finds that are flirty and floral.

3. Show off those legs with a fabulous mini. There are lots of fun minis that can instantly update your style, try the tulip shape in a mini.

4. Try an unplain tote. This Maylee Leather Tote is $22.80 from Forever 21 and can be worn as a work bag or a handbag.

5. Purchase or break out those fun wedges. The wedge is not only a cute option for the Spring and Summer, it’s comfortable too! Not only will you be cute while working or shopping, you can be comfortable too. Try a wedge in a bright color like mimosa, vibrant green, blue or orange.

6. Try mixing and matching bright colors that you already have in your wardrobe. Think orange and pink, blue and orange, or green and yellow.

7. Throw a skinny belt over a dress, jacket, cardigan or shirt for an instantly updated look. Try the Fab Patent Skinny Belt from Forever 21, they have several bright colors to choose from and at $2.50, it’s truly {budget}fab*

I have been experimenting with tip #7. It’s amazing what adding a belt can do to an outfit. I also love Marshalls and TJ Maxx for great (often designer) belts at great prices.

Agreed with #7. Ashley Stewart is already throwing in “free belts” with outfits, especially skinny ones. It changes the whole look of the regular cardigan!
