It’s Cinco de Mayo, which means there are parties and margarita specials going on everywhere. Here’s a look at what’s going on in DC metro area…
Rosa Mexicano is having their first Mexican Masquerade, inviting guests to don their most creative costumes for giveaways and prizes. All day Rosa Mexicano Penn Quarter will offer special menu selections such as Shrimp Quesadillas made with garlic and guajillo chile and Chile Ancho Relleno, ancho chiles stuffed with slow-cooked marinated pork.

Park at 14th is hosting a Cinco de Mayo happy hour. A coalition of professional and social groups organizes this annual affair, which features drink specials, free food, dancing and mariachis. Arrive at the Park at 14th early for a complimentary buffet (5-7), and open bar beer and tequila specials (5-6), though there will be happy hour drink prices all night, including $2 Coronas and Dos Equis, and $9 tequila shots. Alero, a U Street Mexican joint offers live Latin music from 6 to 11, followed by a DJ spinning Latin pop. Alero is serving food and drink specials include $3 house margaritas and Mexican beers.
