zoya dare collection

We had the pleasure of experiencing the Zoya Dare collection, and I will be honest and say that I was completely in love with the preview pictures early on. When the collection arrived, the colors didn’t look how I expected, but of course I still had to give them a go…and lucky for me because these colors are amazing. They went on smoothly and I only used two coats for each color. Pardon the slight messiness as I was attempting to do this asap in order to post the pics…So without further ado, I present to you…Zoya Dare!
Vanessa was probably my least favorite of the entire collection; it’s like a bright pink, almost red color. I wasn’t allowed to wear red nail polish growing up…so perhaps that’s why I shied away from it. It has a red appearance in the bottle but when I put it on my nails, it looks like deep reddish pink. This color would be great for a night out. It also reminds me of a bad girl for some reason, kind of sexy, yet girly. If you’re into reds, this one is definitely worth a go.
Ciara is next and when I first glanced at the polishes, this appeared to be the “pink” of the collection to me. It’s a pink with a purplish look at times to it. In the picture without the flash, it comes across as more of a wine, but in the flash picture it looks like a hot pink. Reminds me of slutty Barbie J I definitely have to add this one to my personal collection. I love it, I’m a pink kind of gal and this one is definitely an edgier pink.
Demi is the perfect plum color. It clearly looks purple in natural lighting (first picture), but with a flash it comes across as almost purple/pinkish. I’m not much of a purple gal, but I do love pink so this color is perfect since its right in between. A perfect plum color that’s not as girly as Ciara, but is still warm.
Next up is Pinta, when I first saw the collection, Pinta = Purple to me. In the natural light it looks kind of dark…but I think the sun was beginning to set. With the flash, hello grape goddess! Pinta is the epitome of a grape purple polish. A must have for purple lovers everywhere (Miss Janelle of {budget}fab* included). This purple is perfect for late the late summer/early fall seasons. It’s bright and fun, yet there’s something darker about it…
Now we’re really starting to get into the edgier side of the Dare collection. Envy, a monstrous green that’s perfectly named. Great job Zoya! This color reminds me of the swamp where a fabulous fashion monster may be lurking…lol. A swamp sounds so ugly, but this color is fabulous. I’m not much of an olive swampy green fan, but Envy definitely has made a fan of me. When you wear this color, Dare I say…they’ll be Envious of you (Sorry, I couldn’t resist).
And last but not least is Ibiza, a fierce navy blue. It has a great shimmer to it that makes it seem not so drab and a lot more fab. The light blue shimmer gives this color an interesting look as opposed to just flat out solid navy. This color reminds me of Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri in Blazing Blue Frost, which I had to have the moment I laid eyes on it.
Overall, I LOVE this collection. When I surveyed the Truth and Dare collections, I knew Dare would be my favorite just because of the color scheme. I love the deep dark colors, especially for Fall. The application was easy and hassle free, the drying time, just like my other Zoya polishes, is fairly quick, especially when using the Zoya Color Lock System. My two favorites from this collection are Ciara and Envy…they’re just too fabulous to pass up. What are you favorites from this collection?
Stay tuned for our preview of the Zoya Truth collection, which is full of warm, rich colors for the fall.
