diy harvest hotties

Okay, so I know Halloween is over, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to post pictures from a harvest party 2 of the {budget}fab* team members attended over the weekend.

Of course, keeping it {budget}fab*, we rocked DIY costumes. By using items we had at home and creating our own costumes, we saved money, sported original costumes, and looked fab* all at once. :)

The Doublemint Twins came from pictures from Chris Brown & his Doublemint Girls when he was a spokesperson for Doublemint gum. We purchased sequin fabric from a dance store and white tees from Forever 21. My sister appliquéd the Doublemint logo she created in Word onto the shirts. We covered cake boxes with green fabric and bought Doublemint gum for the inside. Not the cheapest DIY costume, but it was definitely one of the most fun costumes I’ve ever worn.

The Guap Fairies sported tanks and skirts from their own wardrobes and purchased dollar chains, wings, and guap. These girls even had a rhyme and wands to grant your every guap wish. Fun times indeed.

Twitter showed up to the party! I thought this was super cute and creative. A blue dress from her closet, and wings from the store completed the “Twitter” look. She even had her most recent tweets from the day on her dress and the top said “What are you doing?” I loved this one.

And let’s not forget, a childhood classic…Mario & Luigi. There were lots of Marios on the streets, but this duo was a complete DIY. Denim overalls, long sleeve henleys, and hats were purchased. The letters on the hats were cut out from felt and the gloves were also purchased and can be worn again this winter.

So tell me…did you sport a fab* costume this past weekend? If so, post a comment and tell us all about or feel free to send us an email at socialite{at}budgetfab{dot}com
