the office holiday party

Who doesn’t love a holiday party at work!? Even if you only attend for a moment, steal a sugar cookie and enjoy light-hearted banter it is so much fun! So, who is coordinating the holiday party in your place of work? Why not you? Here are a few, inexpensive and easy tips to get the holiday party started.
- Decide who you want to participate in the office party: Perhaps planning a party for your entire office is a lofty endeavor. To reduce the size, perhaps only include people in your department or just your floor of the office.
- Distribute a sign-in sheet and ask colleagues to contribute: Cookies, soda, chips, dip and crackers are all great starts. Ask your colleagues to bring one or two items on the list to evenly distribute the cost.
- Purchase decorations from Party City or the Dollar Tree: Decorations don’t need to be overly extravagant or expensive. Buy some simple decorations to set the mood and be sure to save them for next year’s holiday party.
- Create a holiday playlist: Update your MP3 with all of our favorite holiday tunes and let them play throughout the party. This is guaranteed to put everyone in the holiday spirit.
- Make your party interactive: Perhaps you can have party-goers decorate their own cookies with icing and sprinkles, participate in a Secret Santa or a cake walk.
