It’s Black History Month and it’s time to celebrate all of the historical achievements of African-Americans within our Nation. If you want to know more about what is going on in a city near you, simply search Black History Events and your city’s name within Google. I stumbled upon some great events taking place right here in the DC Metropolitan area. About.com has some great exhibits and activities listed that family and friends alike can take part in. Here are a few that I’m looking forward to attending.
- Smithsonian Black History Month Family Day Celebration - Sunday, February 8, 2010 11am-3pm
- Black History Discovery Trail and Scavenger Hunt- Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, February 2 - March 1
- National Archives films and lectures throughout the month of February
How do you plan to celebrate Black History Month?
