who we are

Our mission is to share the gift of beauty, self confidence and financial responsibility to women of all ages, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds. We believe every woman should have the right to look and feel her best, enjoy a quality social life and be financially responsible in order to prepare for a better tomorrow.

Dara is an outgoing and optimistic 20-something who has loved all things fashion for as long as she can remember. Born and raised in Richmond, VA and currently residing in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, she is a graduate of Virginia Tech who majored in Industrial & Systems Engineering. While most children would be upset about receiving clothes on Christmas Day, she welcomed and even loved getting clothes and shoes. Her mom always told her that her love for fashion was in her blood, but she could look like a million bucks without breaking the bank. In creating {budget}fab* with her fabulous friends, she hopes to prove to you that fashion doesn’t have a price tag. Of course, along with loving fashion, comes another burden…how to pay for it all! Dara has picked up a few money habits that she hopes to share and build upon including saving money starting with your first paycheck. And of course, just like any other young person, she loves to have a great time! Follow Dara and her {budget}fab* friends as they show you easy recipes and cool places for entertainment that won’t break the bank!

Janelle is a 20-something recovered shopaholic with a sense of humor.  Born in Pennsylvania and raised in Connecticut, Janelle currently resides in the DC Metropolitan area.  She graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Marketing.  She’s a t-shirt and jeans gal with deep a love for fashion and design.  Her Mom says it all began with a purple velvet coat at the age of 4 - Janelle wouldn’t take it off.  Today, she draws fashion inspiration from flipping through fashion magazines and window shopping at designer boutiques (just looking remember… she used to shop too much).  She takes that inspiration and creates looks that work for her, but for less.  The concept of {budget}fab* allows Janelle and her friends to share all they’ve learned in being fabulous and budget conscious and also learn from others how they’ve maintained their fabulousness.

Racine is a silly, outgoing, 20-something that has a passion for fashion and everything fabulous! She is originally from Richmond, VA and currently resides in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. She is an alumna of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (GO TAR HEELS) where she majored in Business Administration. It was only natural that her business savvy coupled with her personal desire to be fabulous would lead she and her friends to birth the concept of {budget}fab*. Racine knows that it’s ok to have caviar dreams and champagne wishes on a sardine and soda pop budget. Stick with Racine and BudgetFab girls and they will show you how to be 100% {budget}fab*!!!
